Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations: — Wednesday, September 15. For Northern provinces of New Zealand, per Phcebe, at 1.45 p.m. Late letters, 2.5 p.m. Kailway station, 2.30 p.m. Thursday, September 16. For Northern provinces of New Zealand, per Taupo, at 1.45 p.m. Late letters, 2.5 p.m. Kailway station, 2.30 p.m. For Dunedin and Port Chalmers, per Beautiful Star, at 11.35 a.m. Late letters, 11.55 a.m. Kailway station, 12.25 p.m. train, Friday, September 17. For Newcastle, N.S.W., per Island City, at 3.45 p.m. Correspondence for despatch must be specially addressed per Island City. A Post Office having been established at Longbeach (Ashburton district), a mail will be dispatched daily at 5.30 a.m., commencing on Monday, 6th Sept, 1875. J. J. FITZGIBBON, Chief Postmaster,
