The schooner Strathnaver arrived in harbor yesterday from Picton. She left that port on August 25th at 10 a.m, witli light N.W. winds, passed Cape Campbell at 8 p.m. the same day; at 2 o’clock the following morning the wind shitted to the S.W. till Monday last, then N.N E. winds till her arrival as above. The s.s. Taupo, Captain Macfarlane, arrived in harbor yesterday at 11.45 a.m from Port Chalmers via Akaroa. She left Port Chalmers at 4.15 p.m. on Monday, experienced tresli head winds, arrived at Akaroa at 7 a.m. yesterday, and left, at 7.30 a.m, arriving ns above. She sailed for Northern ports at 6.15 p.m. yesterday. The schooner J. G. Coleson is daily expected from Mocraki, with a cargo of timber. The schooner Alert cleared yesterday for Hokitika, produce laden. Site sails first chance. As will be seen by advertisement elsewhere, the barque John Knox is announced to leave for Sydney in a day or so. Messrs Montgomery and Co. are her agents. The smart schooner Mary King will load produce for Wellington if sufficient inducement offers. Particulars can be had from Messrs Cunningham and Co.
