The Liverpool Albion of May Ifltli says:— “Horae idea of thcdulucss of the coal trade ia the Wishaw district may be formed from the fact that a train of nearly 200 waggons of coal has been standing so long on a siding near Foulsykcs Pit, belonging to the Coltness Iron Company, that numbers of starlings have built nests in almost every waggon. During last week some boys took about 100 eggs from nests in the trucks.” The other morning a musical critic, speak ing of the vocal powers of a songstress, said ‘ \Ve ‘hang’ upon every note,’ which shows that the singer must have great powers of execution.
