MAGISTRATES COURTS.
CHISTCHURCH. Satubday, August 28. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., KM.) Dbunk and Resisting the Police.— Alexander Peterson and Thomas Trotter, charged with this offence, were each fined 10s ; Peterson to pay cab-hire. Cheating a Disturbance.— Bridget Ferrick, an old offender, was charged with creating a disturbance in a lane off Montreal street, and using obscene language. Constable Taj lor had heard cries of murder, and on proceeding to the spot, heard the language used, and the accused ran then into a house. He followed her, and saw her strike a man on the shoulder with an iron bar. Fined 10s.
