Messrs 11. Matson and Co report on the live stock market, &c, for the week ending August 13th. 1875, as follows:—120 head of cattle, 4250 sheep, and 21 pigs came to hand for the week’s supply. There was an average attendance of purchasers, and biddings comparatively brisk. In cattle our entries comprised 95 head for Messrs Ferguson, M. Jones, M'Donald, J.C. Corr, Ware,Kinley, Lane, Davidson, and others. We sold—Fat bullocks, ,0!) 10s, £io ss, to £l2 ss; cows and heifers. £7 10s, £8 10s, JO9 ss, to £10: store steers, 3 years old, £7, £7 10s, to £7 17s Od; young cattle at extreme rates. The few fat cattle to hand were .only of ordinary quality, and as such sold well. In sheep, our entries comprised 2482 of all classes for Messrs C. Wason. J. Overton, J. Hoag, Twigger, P. Grant, MTlroy, Heywood and Bowron, Taylor, Dunbar, Woods, Philpott, O’Callaghan, P. Muir, and sold 239 cross-breds, at 14s 9d, 122 merino, at 12s, for Mr C. Wason, Corwar; 100 very prime cross-breds, at 23s (id, for Mr John Overton; 216 cross-breds, at 16s 9d, 17a, 17s 6d, for Mr J. Boag; 122 very prime crossbreds, at 23s 6d, lor Mr Twigger; 224 cross-breds, at 17s 6d, 17s 9d, 18s for Mr P. Grant; 361 crossbreds and merinosfor Mr Mcllroy,at 10s, los 3d, 10s 6d; 101 cross-bred ewes at 12s 6d for Messrs Keyword and Bowron; 160 merinos at 8s OdforMr Philpott; 131 shorn lambs at 7s 6d for Mr. I’. Grant; 375 inferior cull lambs for Messrs Woods and Dunbar at 2s 3d to -Is 5d each, and sundry lines at fair rates. The bulk of sheep coming to hand is only of ordinary quality, the larger propor;ion being forced into the market through scarcity of feed, many graziers have this season overstocked their root crops and have been compelled to dispose of their stock before making them prime. The number of really good sheep to come forward is but small, and for such we anticipate a good market, figs— We Bold 21 small, at 35s per head. Sheep-

skins, Hides, and Tallow—On Thursday, at wool stores, we sold a fair entry at, for extra cross-tireds, 7s to Vs fid ; good, fis to 6s fid ; ordinary, 5s fid to 5s 9d ; merinos, 5s 9d to fis 3d each ; country skins, 3s fid to 5s fid ; hides, salted. 4id per lb; green, 4d ; calf, fid per lb ; rough far, 2jd. Friday—We held a clearing sale on account of Mr li. Hose, at Irwcll, of his stock-in-trade.
