The Union Company's s.s. Bruce Jeft Port Chalmers on the 6th inst 3.45 p.m. arrived at Timaru 5 a.m. on the 7th, discharged 90 tons cargo, received 13 hales wool, &c, left at 5.30 p.m, arriving l at Akaroa 5 a.m. on the Bth inst, discharged 20 tons cargo, and left at 7.30 a.m, arriving at JLyttelton at 12.46 yesterday. Fine weather to Akaroa, from thence strong N.E. wind. We have to thank Mr Latimer, the purser, for files and report. The s.s Taupo, Capt Macfarlane, left Manakau at 11.20 a.m. on the 4th inst, cleared the bar at 1 p.m., arrived at New Plymouth at 7 a.m. the next morning, left again at 3.30 p.m., arrived off Nelson 7 a.m. on the 6th, went alongside the wharf at 9.30 a.m.; left at 11.40 a.m., arrived at Picton at 6.15 p.m.; left at 8.45 p.m., arrived in Wellington at 1.30 a.m. on the 7th; left at 4 p.m., experienced light easterly winds and fine weather till arriving in harbor at 8.30 a.m. yesterday. A north-east to east-north-east gale was blowing at Auckland on Saturday, causing a high sea in the harbor.. The A.S P. Company's hulk, lying alongside the barque Albion in the stream, parted her moorings ana drifted up the harbor about 300 yards, coming into collision with the brig Wave stern on, staving in the brig's port bulwarks amidships, and carrying away her lore and main rigging. The hulk's cutwater was carried away. She could not be got clear for a long time. The damages to the brig were considerable. The Freetrader, barque, arrived at Auckland on Saturday, from Hobart Town. The Moa, brig, from Timaru, also arrived. The Wellington sailed on the same day from Manakau for Southern ports, and the St Kilda for Wangahui. The s.s. Phoebe, Captain Worsp, arrived in harbor on Saturday at 3 p.m. from Duftedin. She left that port at 2 10 p.m. on the 6th inst, experienced light variable and fine weather, arriving as above. She ■ailed for North at 10.15 a.m. yesterday. The N.Z.S.S. Company's s.s. Taranaki, Captain Lloyd, arrived in the harbour on Saturday, at 8.50 a.m. from Northern ports, after a smart passage of 16 hours and 35 minutes from Wellington. She left Manukau at 11 a.m. on the 3rd inst, arrived at Taranaki at 7.30 a.m. the next day; left at 9.30 a.m., arrived Nelson 2.30 a.m. on the sth; left at 11 a.m., arrived Picton 7.30 p.m.; left at 3 a.m. on the 6th, arrived Wellington 8.15 a.m.; left at 4.15 p.m. the same day. Experienced from Manukau strong S.E. wind to Nelson, then light variables to Wellington from that port; light N.E. wind till 6 a.m. on Saturday, when it blew a gale which lasted till her arrival as above.
