Cunningham and Co. The schooner Cleopatra sailed from Timaru on July 12th, with a cargo of oats for Greymouth. The brigantine Lady Don cleared at Hokitika for Lyttelton on July 12th, and was to sail immediately with the following cargo, 46,000 ft sawn timber. The schooner Alert, Hays master, cleared at Hokitika, also for Lyttelton, same day as Lady Don, With a cargo consisting of 33,000 ft timber. The fine barque Queen of the Sea, Captain Robin■on, took her departure from port yesterday afternoon. Her destination is Hobart Town. She goes In ballast, and most probably she will return to Lyttelton from Hobart Town. The Rangitiki was towed out into the stream yesterday afternoon by the s.s Ladybird. She will complete her loading by Saturday next, will clear same day, and proceed to sea on Sunday. The barque Joliba, Captain Scouler, arrived in harbor on Wednesday, and anchored at the heads at 5 p.m. She beat up the harbor yesterday, and will be berthed to-morrow. The captain reports that he left Sydney on the Ist, and had strong southerly gales and heavy sea to Steven’s Island, which was sighted on the 11th. Whilst in the Straits on same day had terrific S.E. gale, lasting four hours. On Monday, when off the Kaikoras, experienced a heavy S.W. gale, which smashed bulwarks and stanchions, and did other damage. She brings two passengers, Mrs Powell and child.
