Reading the great Spurgeon’s declaration that “a cigar is a thing to thank God for,” a Liberty street school boy bought a cigar. He was afterwards seen hanging over a fence, but he was not giving thanks, The Philadelphia Public Ledger of March 12th says:—lt will be remembered that Judge McKean, of Utah, in the divorce case of Ann Eliza v Brigham Young, decreed that Brigham pay to plaintiff 3,000 dols for attorney’s fees and 500 dols monthly alimony. The time for payment of the attorney’s fees having expired, Brigham Young was taken before Judge McKean yesterday, adjudged guilty of contempt, and ordered to be imprisoned one day and pay a line of 25 dols.
