MESSRS MOODY AND SANKEY IN LONDON.

The Pall Mall Gazette of April 23rd says : —Messrs Moody and Sankey have continued their services at the East-end and West-end during the week. On Sunday the “ Christian workers” who are associated with Messrs Moody and Sankey in their Revivalist movement in the East-end invited a large number of people of the poorest class to a free tea in a large tent erected on a piece of ground near Messrs Moody and Sankey’s new mission hall. After tea the people were addressed by the wives of several ministers, and other persons, and were entreated to attend some place of Christian worship. It has been resolved to give a similar Sunday tea to about 600 persona for several weeks. At night her Majesty’s Opera House was crowded to the ceiling at a special service held at eight o’clock. The Rev Donald Fraser, of Marylebone Presbyterian Church, preached, and Mr Sankey conducted the singing. Meetings have been held daily this week in the afternoon at the Opera House. The house was crowded in every part, Mr Moody gave an address on God’s love to the world,” and Mr Sankey sang several of the most popular hymns as solos. On Wednesday the royal box was again occupied by the. Duchess of Sutherland, the Lady Constance LevesonGower, and the Duke and Duchess of St Albans. A large number of the aristocracy are also said to have been present in the reserved seats. Meetings have Deen held in the same building each evening in the week, at which the Rev Donald Fraser has preached, and on some evenings Mr Sankey has sung. On other evenings he has attended the services which Mr Moody has conducted at the Bast End, where they have generally had a congregation of about 10,000.
