CITY AND SUBURBS DRAINAGE.

To the Editor of the Globe.

Sir, —Will you allow me to point out that your remarks last evening are a distortion of what I stated on Monday night. I first mentioned my own views as to what is required, that a Drainage Board should be established for the suburbs. I then pointed out the present position of affairs, that his Honor the Superintendent has been requested to take steps for the appointment of Commissioners to be charged with the drainage of Christchurch and the surrounding country ; and upon this I moved the resolution urging the necessity of a complete system of drainage; but that Christchnrch should not be included without the approval of the Council.

Your omission of the second part makes all the difference in sense and meaning: Yours, &c, E. B. BISHOP.
