She brings a lull cargo of timber, consigned to Hawkins and Co. The barque Hopeful, Captain Luly, arrived in harbor on Saturday, at 11.30 am, from Newcastle. The captain reports that he left on June 4th, with variable unsettled weather from the S.W.; cleared Port Stevens’ light on June sth, with moderate E.S.E. winds, which increased into a heavy gale with high sea, lasting for three clays; when off Cape Howe the gale abated, and the wind veered round to W.S.W. and S.E. and blew a hard gale again with high cross sea running. From June 12th, the wind blew principally from the westward till making Cape Farewell on the 17th, when it veered round to W.N.W.
