Underwood, commander, left Melbourne on the 27th May, cleared Port Phillip Heads at 2 p.m. ; passed the Sisters at 7 a.m. on the 28th, and arrived off Hokitika at 6 p.m. on Ist June. Owing to a slight accident which happened to the machinery, at noon on June Ist, the Albion, although within 30 miles of Hokitika, was unable to reach that port until the hour named above. Discharged cargo, passengers, and mails in to the s.s IV alparaanddepartedaflOp.rn; arrived off Greymouth at midnight, and left lor Nelson at 2 a.m, on the 2nd June, arriving at 7.45 p.m.; left again at 8.30 a.m on June 3rd. arriving in Wellington at 5.45 p.m. same day; left again at 2.30 p.m 4th. arriving in Lyttelton 6.40 a.m. on June 6th. Experienced light winds and fine weather to Kaikoras, then had a tearful gale from the S.W. down the coast; she made Godley Head light on Saturday evening, but owing to the thick fog did not enter the Keans until yesterday morning. She sailed for Melbourne and South at 1.45 p.m. The s.s. Phoebe arrived in harbor about 10.30 a.m yesterday morning. She brought no cargo for this port, and sailed again for North at 5 p.m last night. The barque Union was towed out into the stream on Sunday afternoon.
