Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations: — Friday, May 28th. For Dunedin overland, at 5,30 a.m. Saturday! May 29th. For Dunedin, per Wellington, at 11.45 a.m. ; late letters, chief Post-office, noon ; railway station, 12.30 noon. For Chatham Islands, per Magellan Cloud, at 4.30 p.m. For Dunedin and Australian Colonies, per Otago. Hour of closing, future notice. For Northern Provinces, per Taranaki, at 11.45 a.m. ; late letters, chief Post.office, noon ; railway station, 12.30 train. N.B.—The late letter box at the Christchurch railway station is closed. Stamped letters, bearing a late fee in addition to the postage, for ship mails, can be posted in the letter box at the left-hand side of the doorway of the guard’s van, attached to the Lyttelton train.
