MAGISTRATES' COURTS.

CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, May 18. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.) Drunkenness. Martha Jones, alias Brown, was charged with drunkenness. It appeared that defendant, who had only been released from gaol a week, met a constable in Hereford street yesterday and asked to be taken in charge, as she had no place to go to. She was drunk at the time. The defendant said that she could get no place to live in ; she would go to any place and work for her board and lodging if she could get such a place. His Worship dismissed the defendant with a caution. Alfred Gadd was fined ss.
