NEPHEW OF PRINCE BISMARCK.
The German youth who says he is a nephew of Prince Bismarck’s has been getting into trouble again in Melbourne. The Argus says;—“At the Prahran Police Court, on the 12th inst, the notorious ‘ Baron von Sanden’ appeared on a fraud summons for not paying £4 4s 6d, due to a local boot-maker. ‘ The illustrious stranger’ answered the charge in an indignant and lofty manner, stating that he was a gentleman in receipt of £20,000 a year in Prussia, £6OOO of which was remitted to hira here. He had offered the bootmaker an order upon his agents in town, through whom all his payments were made, but he refused to accept it. The Bench ordered defendant to be imprisoned for one month unless the amount was paid, with costs. On another fraud summons for £1 due for cab hire, which from his remarks would seem to form a large item in the Baron’s expenditure, he was ordered to be imprisoned for fourteen days unles the money, with costs, was paid. Von Sanden said he would pay the amount in an hour, and left the court.”
