CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday, May 15. (Before G. L. Hellish, Esq., R.M.) Drunkenness.—Ellen Talbot, an .old offender, and who was also charged with using obscene language, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labour. George Harrison, fined ss. Illegally on Premises.—George Bell was charged with being illegally on the premises formerly occupied by the Northern Insurance Company, in Cashel street, at a quarter past one o'clock this morning. Defendant said that he was staying at the Rotherfield, and being late, and unable to get in, he had turned into the empty house to stop until daylight. The Bench dismissed defendant with a caution.
