POST OFFICE OFFICIALS.

To the Editor of the Globe. Sir—Would you be good enough to insert the following complaint of one of your correspondents, in your valuable paper of tomorrow’s issue, in respect to the management, or, I might say, mismanagement of the letter department, by some of the servants of the Christchurch Central Post Office : —I, a short time since, had occasion to go up the country for a few weeks, and my wife, not knowing where I was gone, naturally felt rather anxious to hear from me. I, four days after my departure, posted a letter to her, which was handed to my wife just eleven nays after Christchurch Post Office date, it having lain eleven days in the Post Office, and my wife calling nearly every day. This is not the only com plaint I have to make respecting the negligence, for I can call it nothing* else, of some of the servants of the letter delivery office. I, conjointly with another person, expected a letter from a gentleman in Canterbury some time since, and after going many times to inquire if there was a letter for me or my partner, gave it up, when just one calendar month after Post Office.date it was handed to my friend. This, I think, is not as it ought to be. Letters of great moment to many might arrive, the same fate overtake them, and the consequences be disastrous. Thinking this ought in some manner to. be remedied, and apologising for taking up so much of your valuable space, I remain, Yours, &c., G, MEYLER. Christchurch, May 14th, 1875.
