Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations: — Wednesday, May 12. For Otago, per Beautiful Star, at noon. Late letters Christchurch Railway Station at 12.25 noon. For Otago, per Phcebe, at 2.30 p.m. Late letters Christchurch Railway Station at 3.5 p.m., and at Chief Post Office 2.40 p.m. Thursday, May 13. For Northern Provinces of New Zealand, per Wellington, 2.20 p.m. Late letters Chief Post Office, 2.45 p.m.; Railway Station, 3.5 p.m. For Australian colonies, Wellington, and Nelson, per Tararua. Hour of closing in future notice. Friday, May 14th. For Otago, per Bruce, at 11.50 a.m. Late letters Chief Post Office, noon; Railway Station, 12.25 noon. Daily, at 5.30 a.m. Otago, Waimate, Oamaru, Timaru, Waitaki. , N.B.—Public attention is directed to several changes in the despatch of local mails. For particulars see notice at Chief Post Office. J.
