Ladybird, Captain Andrews, left Manukau at 11 a.m on 20th; arrived at Taranaki 5 a.m. next day; proceeded at 9 a.m, and arrived at Nelson 6.45 a.m. on 22nd; felt 9 p.m. same day; reached Picton 6 next morning; left again 7.30 a.ni; arrived Wellington 12.30 p.m; left same night at 7.35 p.m, arriving at Lyttelton at 0.15 p.m. on 24th. Experienced light variable wiuds with line weather to Wellington; thence fresh head breeze till arrival. The purser reports passing the Warwick, ship, off Amuri Bluff, from Napier, bound to this port, and a brig bound north. She did not (owing to the late hour she arrived on Saturday) discharge any cargo, but took it on to Dunedin. The s.s. Beautiful Star, Captain Pieterson, arrived in harbor yesterday at 9 a.m., from Dunedin, via Timaru. The captain reports that he lelt Port Chalmers on Friday, April 23rd, at 3.15 p.m., aud arrived in Timaru at 3.30 a.m. on the 24th instant; after a stay of sixteen hours, she left again, and arrived in harbor as above. She sails again today. The schooner Pearl, Captain Urquhart, arrived in harnor on Saturday from Westport (wind bound), lor Timaru. The W. W. Smith cleared the Customs on Saturday for Loudon, via Auckland. She will proceed to tlie latter port the first fair wind, where, she will fill up lor London. An accident happened on Saturday afternoon to Messrs Cameron’s steam lighter Mullough. The vessel was loaded with a cargo of oats and potatoes for the ship W. W. Smith. On the steamer running alongside, the fluke of the anchor caught the ship, and as the steamer broached to the other fluke caught the starboard bow of the steamer, thereby making a large hole, through which the water poured. Finding the vessel making water, the captain at once made for the shore, all steam being put on. A boat from the ship was made fast to the steamer In case the vessel should founder. Fortunately, however, such was not the case, as the captain was able to beacii the vessel in Dampier’s Bay, the water then being up to the batches. The cargo, although much damaged, was removed to the s. s. Moa. The steamer Alhambra, under the command of Captain Bawden, arrived in harbor at noon on Saturday, from Melbourne, via Northern ports. She left Hobson’s Bay at 2.30 p.m. on the 14th, cleared Port Phillip Heads at 6 p.m., passed Wilsou’s Promontory at 4.30 a.m., and the Sisters at noon next day. Experienced N.W. winds on the first day, and moderate S.W. and S. winds during the remainder of the voyage. Arrived oil'Hokitika at 10.30 p.m. on the 19th, left at 11 a.m. on the 20lb, arrived at Greymouth at I p.m., left at 1.20 p.m, same day, arrived at Nelsou at 10 a.m. on 2ist, left at-9 p.m., and arrived at Wellington at 10.30 a.m. on 22nd; left again at 2.30 p.m. on the 23rd, experienced strong southerly wiuds until her arrival as above. She sailed for Melbourne via South at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
