The s.s. Star of the South steamed away from the wharf at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. She tilled up here for Wellington and Napier, and we hear had to shut out some cargo. Besides being a full boat, she takes several passengers for North. The barque Ashburton finished discharging her inward cargo of sleepers at No 1 wharf, and hauled out into the stream. The baniuentine Prince Alfred, Captain Bennett, shifted from No 3 wharf to the Tunnel Wharf yesterday, and commenced to take in produce lor Auckland. The brig Craig Ellachie, Captain Joss, was berthed at No 3 Wharf yesterday, and commenced to discharge her inward cargo of timber. The barque Island City, Captain Brown, finished loading yesterday morning at the Tunnel Wharf, and sailed out into the stream ready for sea. The barque Especulador was berthed at No 2 Wharf yesterday, and commenced to discharge her inward cargo of coals. The brigantine Lady Don cleared at Hokitika on March 13th, with 48,000 feet timber, 9 pkgs furniture, for Lyttelton, The brigantine Sarah and Mary having discharged, commences taking in timber this morning, and will clear out for Lyttelton in a day or two. The ketch Sarah and Mary is also loading for Lyttelton.—" Hokitika Times," April 15th.
