MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. [Before W. D. Carruthers, and W. C. Walker, Esqs., J.P.’s.] Drunk and Disorderly.— Geo Leatham, an old offender, was fined 60s, in default two weeks’ imprisonment. Drunk and Creating a Disturbance. - Alice O’Neil, her first offence, was discharg< d with a caution. Drunk and Using Obscene Language.William Armitage, arrested for being drunk using obscene language in Gloucester street and assaulting Constable Hughes, was fin-d 20s, or forty eight hours. Drunk and Illegally on Premisip,John Watson, who had been found lying drunk in a garden early that morning!. Tuam street, was fined 40s, or ninety-fir hours. Vagrancy.— Jessie Andrews, a very offender, was charged with this offence. Evidence was given that the prisoner had lately been visiting hotels, asking for drink without having the means of paying for it. She was under the influence of liquor on each occasion. Sentenced to three months imprisonment.
