She anchored off Rhodes’ Bay at 10.30 am. The Cha*mian is a wooden Sunderland-built ship, Al, and has made the passage from London in 120, and from joint of departure from land in 110 days. All are well on board. She brings no passengers, if we except those who had charge ol some valuable long-woolled sheep that are on board. Nothing very remarkable occurred on the voyage, but the barque was lying-to for a week off the Cape of Good Hope. The sheep on board consist of twenty Lincolns, from some of the best flocks, and six Leicester rams, and three ewes (pure-bred), imported by Mr J. Newton for Messrs J. T. Matson and Co. These are from the celebrated flock of Mr Robert Botterill, Beverly, Yorkshire. The Lincolns are for a gentleman residing at Akaroa, and are from the Kirkham and other well-known flocks. All shipped arrived here in good order. The Charmian also brings a valuable consignment of agricultural seeds, including fescues, lucerne, and a giant description of rye grass. Several of the varifies are entirely new in this colony.
