CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, February 23. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq, R.M., and Dr Coward.] DRUNK AND USING ABUSIVE LANGUAGE. Andrew M'Guire, arrested for this offence, was fined 10s. ATTEMPT TO COMMIT SUICIDE. John Todd was charged with attempting to commit suicide by sticking a pair of scissors in his throat. The accused had been drinking hard lately, and was remanded to Lyttelton for medical treatment. ILLEGALLY ON PREMISES. Benjamin Saunders, arrested in the stiables of the Warwick Hotel early this morning was fined 10s. DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Robert Smith, brought up on remand for drunkenness, was fined 10s.
