At a grand lodge of Freemasons, held on December 2nd at Freemasons' Hall, the acceptance of the Grand Mastership by the Prince of Wales was formally announced, and his Royal Highness was proclaimed Grand Master of the Order. A letter was read from the Prince, stating that he had appointed the Earl of Carnarvon as Pro Grand ; Master; and the noble Earl was introduced and proclaimed in his position by the Garter King of Arms. His lordship returned thanks for the bono* conferred upon him, and anjnounced that his Royal Highness the Grand i Master had appointed Lord Kkelmersdale ac his Deputy Grand Master. The Grand ! Secretary then read a letter from the Grand Lodge of Ireland, officially announcing the : death.of the late Duke of Leinster, the late ! Grand Master of the Order in that island; and on the motion of the Pro-Grand Master, ia vote of .condolence to the Grand Lodge of Ireland was passed According to the Leeds Mercury, the Prince of Wales will visit studley Royal, Ripon, the seat of the Marquis of Ripon, on the 15th December, and 'remain until the 19th instant,
