WALTHAM V. AVONSIDE. This match came off on Saturday last, on the] Waltham ground, arid resulted in a victory for the home team. The Avonside were the first to appear at the wickets, but the bowling being well on, nothing much was done, Hill being the only one who got into double figures, the innings closing for 35 runs. The Waltham's then went in, but found the bowling of Brown too good for them, and retired for the small score of 20. After a short interval the Avonside again went in, but Frith being one too many for them, they retired for 28 nine. The Waltham club now wanted 43 to win, a task they accomplished without the loss of a wicket. The following is the correct score : AVONSIDE.
