CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, January 26. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.) DRUNK AND INSULTING FEMALES. James Johnston, who had been arrested for being drunk and insulting females the previous night in Colombo street was fined 20s. KAIAPOI. Monday, January 25, [Before 0. Whitefoord, Esq., B.M.] SLAUGHTERHOUSE ORDINANCE. A license was granted to W. Wright, Kaiapoi Island. PUBLICHOUSE LICENSING ACT. On Thursday last the license of the Kaikanui Hotel was transferred from W. Harris to B. Monk. The inspector of police reported he had known Mr Monk for many years, and he was a very respectable man. CIVIL CASES. H. J. Moore v S. Garrett; claim £1 ; judgment for plaintiff. Same v James Perrin ; claim £2 12s ; judgment for plaintiff by consent. Same vF. Richards ; claim 10s ; judgment for plaintiff. LYTTELTON. Monday, January 25, (Before Wm, Donald, R.M.) drunkenness. Jane Rhodes, arrested by Sergeant Maguire, charged with this offence, was fined 20s or ninety-six hours. The fine was not paid. DAMAGING PROPERTY AND DRUNKENNESS, Samuel Garwood, arrested by Constable Barron, charged with this offence, was dismissed upon paying the damage, amounting to £l.
