At a protracted meeting, recently held “out West,” an ancient sister in the church arose, and said, “I see young ladies here that think more of gewgaws, furbelows, ribbons, and laces than they do of their soul’s welfare. I loved them once, and adorned my hat with French artificial flowers, bright-coloured ribbons, and sky bine trimmings ; but I found that they went dragging me’ down to destruction, so I took them off—and gave them to my sister! ”
