Every policy-holder, who is suph in respect of a policy granted or entered into in New Zealand by a Company who sh all have made a deposit of securities under the Life Assurance Companies Act, 1873, may,; if the policy or contract has been made! before the commencement of the said Act,; register such policy with the Public within twelve months after the commencement of the said Act, but hot after; and if made after the commencement of the said' Act, then within six months after the making thereof. (N.B.—The lstof November, 1873, is fixed as the commencement of the Act.) 2. The person intending to register a policy] ■hall either deliver the same to the PublicTrustee at his office in Wellington, or may. deliver the same to an agent; and every such person -shall make application to re-: gister such policy in a form which can be •obtained at any Post Office in the colony at whickMooefc Orders areiasued* . 3. The Public Trustee shall make and keep a book for the registration of policies,. in which, the particulars of each policy shall be recorded. £.
