THE ENDYMION Pilot Reed wont on board the Endymion at 5 a.m. on Saturday morning to take her to sea; (he anchor was hove short, a light southerly wind blowing at the time, hut when the crew were asked to trip the anchor they refused, on the plea that they were one man short. The captain proceeded on shore to obtain another hand, and in the meantime the anchor was tripped by the officers and boys, and sailed down below the shipping to wait for the captain and other hand. He arrived about 10 a.m., bringing the man. and all hands then turned to, sail was set, and she was soon taken out to the Heads (where the pilot lelt herewith a fine fresh W.S.W. breeze. The ship was about two and a half miles outside the Heads when the wind changed to a fine working N.E. breeze. About -1 p.m., however, she was brought back into the harbor, as the wind was ahead, and the captain thought the ship required more ballast. THE LADY DON. The brigantine Lady Don left Hokitika on November 27th. She was towed out by the Titan, and had light southerly breeze at starting. On the 28th, at 8 a.m, were off Cape Eoulwind, the wind being light S.W. At 6 p.m. on the 29th, oil' the Htapliy River, and on the 30th sighted Rocks Point, there being a light northerly wind both days. On the Ist of December, at noon, when oil - West Wanganui, spoke the Mary King, from Auckland, hound to the Buller. On the 2nd rounded Stephen's Island, the northerly breeze continuing, hut blowing fresher. At 4 p.m, same day, passed Cape Campbell, and sighted several vessels beating through the straits. On the 3rd had moderate northerly winds, and were off the Kaikoras. On the 4th the wind changed to a fresli southerly breeze, and at 7 p.m sighted Motanau Island. On the sth had strong breeze with heavy sea from the southward, and saw a brig and schooner bound north ; at 9 p m sighted the light, and ran up the harbor, and anchored off the town yesterday.
