MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.

CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday, December 5. [Before Launcelot Walker, Esq., J.P.] DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Edward McCourt was charged with drunkeness. The arresting constable stated that Mrs McCourt called him the previous day, and asked him to put her husband out of the house. He was so drunk that he had to take him into custody. Mrs McCourt stated that since she had received a protection order her husband had continually annoyed her. He was continually drunk, and by his annoyance rendered her unfit to work for her children If this annoyance was continued to be permitted she would have to give up and leave the place. The accused was remanded to Lyttelton for eight days. Edward McDermott, for being drunk at the Christchurch Railway station, was fined 20s and cab-hire, or forty-eight hours. George Goodwin, for drunkenness, was dismissed with a caution.

LYTTELTON. Friday, December 4. (Before W. Donald, Esq., 8.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Owen Bond, alias Cain, arrested by Ser-geant-Major O’Grady, was brought up on remand and fined 10s. ABUSIVE LANGUAGE. Blackmore v Blackmore. Adjourned until Tuesday next, the defendant being unwell and unable to attend, CIVIL CASE, Illingworth v Wakelin ; claim £lO, for damages sustained through defendant’s bull having killed that of plaintiff. Mr Nalder for defendant. Judgment for £3 10s, with costs.

KAIAPOI. Friday, December 4. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq , KM,] DRUNK AND DISORDERLY; John Moffatt, an elderly stranger in custody, was charged by mounted constable Beck with having been drunk and disorderly at the railway station on the previous evening. Accused being asked if he admitted the charge replied, “ O yes, sir.” Fined 10s and costs. [Before J. Birch. Esq.] FURIOUS DRIVING. Mrs Mellish was charged on the information of mounted constable Beck with driving a buggy at a furious rate along Charles street over the bridge and North road on the 23rd ult. Mr Mellish admitted the offence, the accused was driving to catch the last train. Fined 10s and costs.

RANGIORA. Friday, December 4. [Before J. C. Boys, Esq.J DRUNK AND INCAPABLE. W. H, Jones, arrested by Constable Shannessey, was brought up charged as above. Dismissed with a caution to leave the district.
