DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB SPRING MEETING [By Electric Telegraph.] Dunedin, November 30. The weather was splendid for the races today, There was a large attendance. Kildare being the only entry for Hurdle race, he walked over. MAIDEN PLATE. King Philip (Batty) 1 Miss Alfred (Peterson) 2 Miss King ... ... (J. Cotton) 3 Betting—Two to one on King Philip. After one break away, a start was made, all getting away together except May Queen, who reared up at the post, thus losing three hundreds yards ; passing the Stand the first time Lady Glasgow led, King Philip hard held heading the others, this position was kept for a quarter of a mile, Miss Alfred then took the first place, King Philip gradually creeping up, Lady Glasgow falling back. Before the starting post was reached, the King was on level terras with the leader, and although Miss Alfred did her utmost, King Philip won easily by half a length. Time —2min 314-sec, being the slowest time for a Maiden Plate ever run on the Forbury course. st, Andrew’s handicap. Kathleen ... ... ... (Low) 1 Envy (J. Cotton) 2 Faugh-a-Ballagh ... ... (Green) 3 Mabel, who started at level betting, got left at the start and never got within 200 yards of the other horses. Kathleen led, passing the Stand the first time,, after going three-quarters of a mile Kathleen and Envy drew themselves away from the other horses, and had the race to themselves. Kathleen then won a good race by half a length.
