RAILWAY SHORTCOMINGS.
To the Editor of the Globe. IR> Is it impossible that the failure of <our Railway income can be charged to the abuse <«f. carrying dead heads? To be sure ■we lose on the fare for the knights errant with free passes, the privileged class, the Provincial Councilmen. But then there is balm in Gilead, it will be a saving in the end. As money was Voted for their travelling expenses in order that these gentlemen might inspect whatever was going on, they must by this time be brimful of information .on things in general, and railway management in particular. The public will cease :to grudge the outlay when they begin to feel ithe benefit of such wise liberality. For the lpresent, indeed, what with the Post Office and the Railways, we seem to be somewhat an a muddle. Yours, &c, JOHN GILPIN.
