Vire sailed for Akaroa about noon this morning, and the ship Gutenburg tripped her anchor at 6 a.m. for Newcastle, with part of original cargo. The three-masted schooner Melanie, Captain Creagh, sailed at 12.30 p.m. this morning for Kaiapoi. She takes a general cargo of grain, &c, shipped by Messrs Matheson's Agency. The s.s. Taranaki, Captain Wheeler, arrived in harbor at 1 p.m. this afternoon from Dunedin. She sails on her return trip for Northern Ports to-morrow. The schooner Reward, Captain Westlake, put in harbor last night wind bound. She came from Oamaru, bound to Wellington, with cargo of flour.
