Mr C. Clark’s monthly auction sale was held at Log’s yards,on Friday last. The yards were lull, both of sheep and cattle, and the bidding throughout was most brisk. About 500 merino ewes and lambs were yarded and sold readily at prices ranging from 0s 6d to 10s; Imlf-breds, from Its 3d to 235, according to quality, Store pigs fetched trom 20s to 30s, and prime sows in pig, from 50s to .Ctl7s (id. The competition for the cattle was most spirited. Cows were sold readily at from X"4 10s to Cs. Store cattle from 50s to X 5 2s (id, and yearlings from 26s to 10s. Mr Deßourbcl reports the share market as follows: Buyers: —National Insurance, 20s; National Bank, 60s; South British. JOs ; Standard Insurance, os; Colonial Bank, Lis. Sellers: National Insurance, 30s; National Bank, 70s; South British, 50s; Shipping Company, 15s; Standard Insurance, 10s; Colonial Bank, 13s. Mr 11. E. Alport reports having hold sales at auction every day last week excepting Friday. <ln Monday last, at the warehouse of Mr Fahr, Ferry road, sold a considerable quantity of furniture, earthenware, Ac., at full rates. On same day, at auction, offered the Star Brewery, Ferry road, but owner’s limit not being readied the property remains unsold. On Tuesday, at Hayes’ cottage, Hereford street, held a sale by auction of household furniture, piano, Ac. The attendance was good, and all lots met with purchasers at fair rates. At the Carlton Yards, on Wednesday, a considerable amount of business was transacted. The yards were largely supplied with fat aud store sheep, both with wool on aud shorn, taken as a whole of superior quality, chiefly balf-breds ; lambs were also in abundant supply. The bulk of the cattle yarded were stores aud young stock. A few pens of fair quality fat steers, cows, and heifers, also came forward. Sales, belli of sheep aud cattle, were carried on with spirit, but did not exhibit any change in value worthy of remark. On Thursday, at the Hereford street salerooms, sold at auction a consignment of choice ornamental trees, flowering shrubs, pot plants, Ac. A good attendance ot buyers was attracted, and fair rates obtained. On Saturday morning at ten o’clock, held a sale ot furniture at the residence of Mr Exalt, North town belt, and on same day, at 12 o’clock, at Speusley’s Hall, High street, held a sale by auction on account of the committee of the Wesleyan bazaar, of toys, jewellery, 'Tunbridge ware, and fancy goods. Being for a good cause, the sale was largely attended, aud everything sold briskly and at satisfactory prices.
