GOVERNMENT PAY DAY.

To the Editor of the Globe. Sir, —I am one of about five hundred who are aware that the pay for the men—who are engaged on the railway and receive their pay every fortnight—is due to-day, and lam politely told that because the Executive are out of town on the spree, we have to wait sine die. We have no credit, and to-day is Saturday, and my wife expects me to bring her the wherewithal for food, etc, for us and children. Yours, See., One of the Five Hundred.
