Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations:— For Dunedin and Port Chalmers, per s.s. Bruce, on Wednesday, October 21st, at 11.30 a.m. For Fiji, Sandwich Islands, United States, South Central and British America, the West Indies, United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, &c., via San Francisco, on Saturday, 24th instant, at 10 p.m. Newspapers at 9 p.m. Money orders and registered letters at 5 p.m. If time permits a supplementary mail for letters only will be made up on Sunday morning. All correspondence will be forwarded by this route unless specially addressed. J. J. FITZGIBBON, Chief Postmaster.
