MAGISTRATES' COURTS.

LYTTELTON. Tuesday, October 6. (.Before W. Donald, Esq., E.M.] CATTLE TRESPASS. The following persons were charged with this offence, and fined as follows :—Charles Brown, 2s 6d, and 4s costs ; Wm, Pitcaithly, 10s, and 4s costs ; J. Illingwood, 10s, and 4a costs ; W. Mitchell, ss, and 4s costs ; Jno. Cameron, 10s, and 4s costs; James Matthews, ss, and 4s costs ; J. Harkiss, 2s 6d, and 4s costs. NEGLECTING TO KEEP A LIGHT OVEB OB UPON A HOARDING. Thomas Greig, charged with this offence on four separate counts, was fined 5s for three of the cases, and costs ; the fourth was dismissed on payment of costs. BREACH OP PUBLICHOTJSE ORDINANCE. Stephen Bailey, of the Albion Hotel, was charged with neglecting to keep a lamp burning in front of his licensed house in London street. He stated that he had lighted the lamp, but it had been extinguished by a gust of wind. The case was dismissed fon payment of costs.
