The Customs revenue collected on Saturday was as follows „ £ s. d.

The land sold at the Waste Lands Board yesterday amounted to 1110 acres, realising £2220. It is situated in the following districts A. R. r.

Messrs J. and K. 11. Campbell held the usual weekly sale of horses on Saturday, the 3rd instant. We report a great demand for first-class draught horses, also for hacks of a superior description. For ordinary draughts and medium hacks there is little demand. Owing to the high reserves placed on this class of stock by sellers, few sales have been effected We are of opinion that in this description of stock sellers must reduce their values if they wish to find purchasers. We regret that through the strict enforcement of the Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act of i«73, wo have been disappointed in offering a splendid shipment of heavy draught mares from Tasmania as they have been debarred from landing at Lyttelton. We hope to be able to o er a mob of this description within the next few weeks. Quotations— First-class draught, £la amt upwards; ruediuni ditto, £3O to £4O: useful f«uru ditto £3O to £3O: good hacks and light harness horses, £l7 to £35 ; ordinary ditto, £l2 to £ls.
