PORT OF LYTTELTON. ARRIVED. October 2—Maori, s.s., 118 tons, Malcolm, from Dunedin. Passengers—cabin : Messrs Graham, Dunlop, Waterman, Fin, Walch, Carry, Rutter, Brown, Twist, Small, Isles, Murphy. Day, O’Grady, Bloom, and 13 in steerage. October 2—Reward, schooner, 41 tons, Westlake, from Akaroa, with, timber. October 2—Edward, schooner, 31 tons, Dalmar, from Le Bon’s Bay, with timber. Master agent. CLEARED. October 2 —Esther, brigantine, 47 tons, Johnson, for Oamaru, with sleepers. Cuff and Graham, agents. SAILED. October 2—Lady Don, brigantine, 68 tons, Buxton, for Oamaru. October 2—Antelope, cutter, 17 tons, Malcolmson, for Akaroa, with general cargo. Master, agent. October 2—Quiver, ketch, for the Bays, in ballast. Master, agent. The s.s. Bruce, Capt Macfarlane, started from the wharf at one this morning, directly the S.W. gale abated. When she arrived at the heads it was discovered that the circulating pump crosshead, which had been repaired, was unable to bear the strain, She was, therefore, brought up, and tne s.s. Maori towed her in. No doubt the necessary repairs will be made expeditiously at Anderson’s Foundry.
