M. Offenbach has gained an action against the theatrical critic of the Pays for calling him a wily Prussian, a friend of Bismarck, and the author of the misfortunes of France. The composer, who has been a naturalised Frenchman since IS<>o, when he had obtained judgment in the case refused to ask for damages, ami the critic was only condemned in costs.
