THE PROVINCIAL AUDITOR.

To the Editor of the Glohe. Sir, — I am glad to see that a correspondent signing himself “ Reform,” has taken the trouble to call attention to the audit and other provincial departments. I can fully endorse the assertions made by him in his let'er, and agree with him that it is high time that something should be done to prevent any more inconvenience being suffered by the public through the neglect or caprices of officials in our provincial buildings. Apropos of our deputy-auditor, does he receive a salary, and if so, for what? Certainly not for services rendered I Yours, Argus. Christchurch, September 17th.
