Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations: — For Northern Provinces of New Zealand, per s.s. Taranaki, on Thursday, September 17th, at 2.30 p.m. For Dunedin direct, per Phcebe, on Friday, September 18, at 11.30 a.m. For Akaroa, Timaru, and Port Chalmers, per s.s. Bruce, on or about Friday, September 18, at 11.30 a.m. For Hobart Town direct, per brig Jane, on Thursday, September 17, at 10.30 a.m. Letters must be specially addressed. J. J. FITZGIBBON, Chief Pontmaster.
