SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

KAIAPOI. The usual meeting of this committee was held on Friday evening. Present —All the members except Mr Young and Rev R. Bavin, the chairman. Dr Dudley presided. A letter was read from the Board of Education, sanctioning the calling for tenders for school furniture. The master's returns were handed in. Reports on the inspection of both schools were handed in, and were satisfactory in all respects.

Sundry accounts were passed for payment.

The subcommittee appointed to carry out the levelling of the school site submitted their plans, which were approved of. It was reso'vi'd that Mr Kerr and Bev R. Bavin be a sub-committee to report on the proposed staff of teachers, their salaries, and duties, to report at next meeting. The committee then adjourned.
