The barque Speedwell, from Newcastle, arrived in harbor this morning with a cargo of coal. The Star of the South sailed for North about 1 p.m. to-day. The ships Ballochmylo and Northampton, and the barque Fratelle Gaggino were visible from the heads last night, but this morning at daylight, the la t traced of them had disappeared. The barque Speedwell will take the Ryno’s berth at Peacock’s wharf. The Otago sailed last night at 6 p.m. She discharged 90 tons of cargo, and took in three truck loads between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Not bad work. The barque Retriever, which arrived at Melbourne some time ago, is to be placed in the intercolonial trade, and Captain Leßrun, well-known in the coasting and New Zealand trade, is to have charge of her.
