The " Hawke's Bay Herald " supports the resolutions for abolishing provincialism. Wellington, August 20. Flour is rating from £l3 to £l3 10s; potatoes, £0 to £G 10s, and scarce; bran is supplied at Is 3d to ls4d; wheat, milling, 5s <>d ; chicken, 4s 3d ; oats. 4s lOd to 5s ; cheese, B£d to 9d ; hams, Is Id ; bacon, 9d to lOd. Nelson, August. 20. In the Supreme Court the trials of Nuirna Boseley, for the murder of his wife, and Win. Millyard as accessary after the fact, excited great interest, the Hall being crowded both days. At the close of the c>se for the prosecution, the Judge directed that Millyard be discharged. The jury after an hour's deliberation found Boseley guilty of manslaughter, and he was sentenced to fifteen years. DUNEDIN, August 20. Coal from the Bruce coalfield, Tokomairiro, has been tried in the locomotives on the C'utha line with great success. OAMAKU, August 20. The public here unanimously approve of Mr Steward's action in supporting the Premier's resolutions regarding the abolition of the North Island provinces.
