Dunkdin,— The “ (jiiiir.liau” of the 15th reports : —Business lias been very dull indeed during; tlie past week. Country traffic has fallen oil, and tlie town trade lias been at a standstill. Several ships have discharged and gone, some to Newcastle, some to China, leaving with ns considerable augmentation to our stocks, which additions, however, have not had the effect of depreciating values. Brandies are certainly doing no more now than holding their own—there is no positive decline, but stocks are pretty full. Whiskies are moving a little more lively, aided, perhaps, by the firmness of brandy, but no effect of an improving kind, such as might be attributed to the indicated tariff changes in colonial spirits, lias yet manifested itself. -Rum and geneva remain inactive. In wine we can only report a few sales, and tnese of the better sorts, which alone almost are inquired for; good sparkling ■wines are scarce, and in fewhauds. Wcmay allude to the circumstance that colonial spirits nre rapidly taking the place of the lower descriptions of sherry, &c, a declining consumption of these having been very marked lor some time back. Stocks of imported bottled ale and stout are rather in excess, and inquiry dull. Tea is rather dull of sale. Ou Tuesday next M'Landress, Hepburn, and Co will offer for sale a large number of packages new season, ex Omeo, transhipped from Legislator,
