Alport reports having lu'lcl the following important salt’s by auction at Akaroa. on account of Mr George Ano st roup:-On Wednesday last at Mr Armstrong’s salerooms, near the Jolty, Akaroa, held an unreserved dealing sale of his stock of groceries, oilman’s stores, men’s clothing - , hosiery, earthenware, kerosene, sherry wine. Ac. Had a large attendance of buyers, and excellent prices were obtained. On Thursday, at Mr Armstrong’s, Mount Vernon Farm, sold tot head of cattle, as follows:—Fat steers, cows, and heifers, from £4 tits to £7 17s (id ; store steers and spayed cows, from £3 5s to £5 ; two-year-old springing heifers, £3 to £5 7s (id; so half-bred hoggets brought 10s ; cheese, 6Ad per lb ; bacon, 6d per lb ; hams, 8d per lb ; keg butter, per lb.
