The barque John Bull sailed for Newcastle yesterday. The schooner Lady Don, Captain Ruxton, arrived in harbor yesterday morning, from Hokitika via Wellington. She left the former port in tow with the tug Titan, on Tuesday, 14th July, with light easterly weather. Encountered a heavy gale from the south - west in coming through the Straits, and ran into Wellington for shelter on the 20th ; left on the 26th in company with the barque Corredo ; experienced light S. and S.E. weather until arrival.

The ship City of Agra sailed for Newcastle yesterday morning with a fair wind. The ship Varuna cleared for Newcastle yesterday. This vessel discharged her inward cargo in splendid order and condition. She sails to-day. The schooner Emerald cleared the Customs yesterday with a full cargo, bound for Greymouth.

The schooner Florence arrived in harbor yesterday from Hokitika. The barque Rio Logo sailed for Auckland yesterday morning. The p.s. Comerang arrived in harbor yesteiday morning at 3 o’clock, from Timaru. She left that port at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Spoke the barque Syren at the heads. The brig Emily, Captain C. H. Linklater, left Newcastle upon the 11th inst, with 430 tons of coals. Experienced light S.E. winds until the 17th, then strong S.S.W, and S. winds until the 21st, when Mount Egmont was sighted. Entered Cook’s Strait the same night with light S.E, winds, and continued until the 26th. When off Cape Campbell, it blew strong for a few hours at S.S.E. 27th, A light westerly wind ; ran the ship up to Sail rock ; since then, light variable winds and calms, and arrived off the harbor the evening of the 28th. The Emily is consigned to Messrs Langdown. The s.s. Albion arrived at 11.30 a.m. this morning, from Melbourne via the Bluff and Port Chalmers.
