CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, July 14. [Before 0. C. Bowen, Esq., R.M/] LUNACY FROM DRINK. Peter Bomolus alias Brown was charged with this offence. Sergeant Willis stated that at three o’clock the previous day, prisoner came to the police depot, and said that two ©r three hundred persons were trying to shoot him near the Bank of New Zealand. He seemed to be of unsound mind, and he (the sergeant) took him into custody. His Worship remanded accused for a week into Lyttelton, so that the doctor might see him, SLAUGHTER HOUSE LICENSE. The adjourned application of F. Hopkins and Co for a license to slaughter on section 1148 near Sandhills was again called on. Mounted Constable Beck stated to the bench that the nuisance complained of had been removed, and the defective drainage remedied. Application granted. KAIAPOI. Monday, July 13. (Before C. L. Hellish, Esq., R.M.) abusive language. James Rosser was charged with using abusive language to Mr E. Revcll, collector for the education rate Kaiapoi district. Fined 10s and costs. CIVIL CASES. Kaiapoi Borough Council v James Perrin ; claim £7 4s for rates and rents ; defendant did not appear. Judgment for plaintiff for amount and costs. Superintendent by collector of education rates Kaiapoi district v W. Allen ; claim £2 2s ; defendant proved that only part of the property for which he was rated, came within the district. Judgment for plaintiff for 12s and costs.
