The barquentine Prince Alfred sailed for Auckland on Saturday, with a full cargo. The barque Eureka sailed for Wellington yesterday morning, with part original cargo from New York. The s.s. Maori sailed for Dunedin via intermediate ports on Saturday evening at seven o’clock. The schooners Shepherdess, for Wanganui, and the Opotiki for Poverty Bay, sailed yesterday. The schooner Garibaldi sailed for Wellington yesterday morning. The schooners Alert, Onward, and Canterbury arrived in harbor yesterday morning. The barque Ornati, Captain Doughty, arrived in harbor yesterday from Newcastle. The captain reports that he left that port at 8 p.ra. on the 20th ult • had strong westerly ■winds until making the land ; came through the'Straits on Thursday last, 9th inst. The vessel brings nearly 1000 tons of coals for the coaling of the s.s. Alrato.
The barque John Bull, Captain Tizard, arrived in harbor yesterday morning from Newcastle. She left that port on June 27th, experienced heavy gales from the N.E. to making the land, and was driven down twenty miles south of Cape Foulwind ; passed through the Straits on the 9th, weather fine, wind N.W.; thence to arrival had light and variable winds. Her cargo is consigned to W. H. Hargreaves and Co. The barque P.C.E., fourteen days from Auckland, arrived in harbor yesterday afternoon, with a cargo of timber.
